Aah, the shadow! It's all good on the white background! =)

 Such a shitty background for something beautiful.

If the yellow blob is the sun, your shadow is facing the wrong way. 

Personally, I really like the outline. It adds to the overall style of the piece.  The only thing I don't really like is the far right side of the piece... I feel like it needs something.  Maybe a couple other statues in the distance, or hell just cut it off :)

Good job with the statue,  the outline is fine to me, I just don't like the bottom part of the outline, then it seems like someone just stuck it there a few minutes ago.

 There doesn't need to be a background....Just no transparancy.

nice - the moai. only =) you're right that the background doesn't fit. is it supposed to be some desert?

just checked the challenge page for the assumed 'background-rule'.. cannot find it. where did you hear that?

edit/hint: i'd remove the outline that is separating his head from his body. also there's a stray pixel under his chin.. oh, thinking about proper backgrounds: what about quickly pixeling a  storage room? ;D

it would be so much better without the outline, it is very unrealistic now. But i really like the statue itself.

I like it, the maoi looks really cool and the background, while simple, looks alright.  Two problems though, the black outline around the maoi, which I think you could maybe keep, but put some sort of AA around it so its smoother.  And also what is the round thing coming out of the sand?
