I hope this satisfies your questions.

As much as I hate tracing and colour reducing, I can't blame him for doing so... If he used the original image in that way, it has been edited so much that you can no longer call it an edit... does that make sense?
This has got to be traced....
The lines are sooooooooooooooooo close it looks like a color reduction that was edited
to sorta kinda make it a little diffrent.
Check out this 1:1 pic of the hulk i drew....I also made sure all the lines matched
exactly but as you can see by the sorta diffrent shading it's not a color reduction...

And if you can't tell im being sarcastic, Well im being sarcastic.
I love it. Looks a lot like the ref pic. Amazing details you got there.
looks more like suffering. background could use a little work. the details are very good yet disturbing.
In my opinion, this doesn't emulate the emotion sadness. It's more like vagrancy . . . or the need for cheap dentists in third world countries. Not impressed with the whole trace thing, either. No merit. Bg kills it. It' better off with no bg, it's just a disraction. Long live Photoshop!
In graphics gale when color reducing to 256 colors, you can specify the number of colors (eg. 14).
Reminds me of shadow of the beast 2 loading screen ... can't find a screenshot. Anyway, maybe 32 colors and a blue robe would look good? Her teeth need to be rendered nicer imo (ie. less messy).
i think the background could use some work, bring it up to the level that the face is done at.
The face's shading style is significantly different from the ref and the cheek wrinkles are more pronounced.
It's just always good to say whether or not something is traced, just to save potential accusations :)
I voted No cause I suspect about the number of colors (16) and some pixels:
Well I'm not great at spotting these things, but some spots are definitely quite different, for instance, the womans (her) right cheek, is much different than what was pixelled. Or her eyes.
But some spots, like the forehead, are so similar, it does raise questions. Many of the inside features seem to be copied/traced as well.
No question its traced, I can live with that because the ref is mentioned and shown. What I wonder is if it was pixelled after a color reduction of the original. This would be a no-no for me.
I quote squirrelsquid
it's not a color-reduction, probably traced, but PA at all.
I do not think it is a color-reduction...
It's a sad picture, and not realy my taste, but I voted Yes, non the less.
The picture that impressed me very . My idea was to make it 1:1 with the original (in which I am accused) only in the pixel art. Christmas is linear in the original which I do not see anything wrong. I set to work and it just so you can compare them. This work is incorporated much work.
I think this is just a color reduction with some really small changes. Look at this:
Ah. i did, but now I've had a good look there's definitely some suspicious bits, namely the shoulder hood area where it's been mistraced. Some WIPs would clear up any misconceptions.
WholyFrickinHell this pic is awesomme. Love the shading of the cloth. The Bg is really wierd tho- but ok.
full on!
