Snap, that's really good, nicely detailed.

Shading is fantastic, too, and the effect of how the face fades away into the ball makes me happy. :3

just discovered your previous versions. the former face looks more immersed in that ball. maybe because the almost black part went through his face, and the purple part did not really meet it. although i find his eyes were somehow filled with more emotions.

great idea. but i think it doesn't look like he's inside the crystal ball. perhaps because his face is so greenish. the purple glass would sure affect the skin color.

btw i like these blue thingies coming out of his nose.
