but now I'm all like -hey, that's pretty cool... This thing has a great first impression- and great idea.

This is definitely an interesting piece; I really like the city with tentacles (?).

But this doesn't quite fit the weekly challenge's rules. The challenge asks for you to pixel a 'scene' and I don't really think this could be considered one.

However, this is very impressive for a first pixel.
