Hey, I think this has a lot of potential. So I've made an edit:

*I've tried to give the egg some more depth, right now yours is very flat. I have included some hue shifting and I have removed the white border around the egg, as it gave it a sort of cardboard cut-out feel.
*I created a more interesting background, yours is quite boring and flat. Your sky also comes across as lumpy due to your uneven use of dithering. If dithering is to be used as a transitional shade it is probably best if it takes up a similar amount of space as the undithered area. Although, I would advise against using too much dithering anyway. Dithering is something that should be used sparingly and carefully.
*My edit could be a lot better, but I have tried to remove the pillow shading in your piece and give more of a consistent lightsource. If you are including a shadow in a piece, make sure you consider its position in relation to your lightsource.
That's pretty good. I made this egg ages ago for a project which I was doing. I thought I might as well submit it anyway. I was planning on adding a background like yours originally, but as I said, this is from ages ago so I couldn't be bothered to do it now.
