mm. small updat.
@smk: I do agree somewhat, my excuse is that he's really irritated and brings his hand 'round quickly. Is my looking like a Jeremy good or bad? ;D
The hand could use more frames, seems like it kinda folds ;s Other than that, great sprite! And btw your profile pic looks just like someone I would picture someone bearing the name Jeremy :D
The Gimp is a great and easy tool when used to animate something :)
Good pixel.
Lazy top/right lightsource thing. No excuse for no belly movement, the rest of the sprite shouldn't be so stationary anyway.
I'll play a bit more tomorrow, I may make the robes a darker purple, spades shouldn't be red.
G'night.
When u do shadows, do some mental ray casting. Also consider if light reflected from other areas would reach the shadows (or if there are other light sources)...
What about him breathing with his belly?
@sharprm: I was going for more of a Medieval Harp, they're pretty different to a modern one. Elbow should be easy to fix, same with cape shadow. He's a little top heavy, but I can live with that. Head shadow... my excuse would be his chiseled features :D
@Tre le Coco: Yeah, that was meant to be breathing. It should be more pronounced.
The cross eyes blinking thing is just exaggeration of a wince of annoyance or something :)
Sprite looks. Cute how he blinks. Elbow is kinda retarded in anim. I would recommend leaving the fancy term techniques till you think you got a hold on the basics. Like where does that black shadow around the head come from? Why isn't the cape in shadow? How do you draw things expanding and shrinking?
Random thought: is half the harp missing? Also, his left arm is like one tube but right arm has elbow. Maybe you should be consistent? Try drawing him without the robe and see if you still like position/width of legs etc.
I agree - not perfect but good job! Make him scratch his back with the sceptor :) Note you would have to draw a entirely new keyframe to do that properly with appropriate posture and expression. Its a recession and all but I think we can afford a new keyframe ...
The animation for the hand holding the staff moving is great =D but the rest of it could do with some improving ^^;
Whats with the animation around the shadowing? Is that to show him breathing? If so, it might be an idea to add some movement to the shirt area too - because that area looks stiff it just looks really random having the shadow move like that ^^;
Why does he go cross eye when he blinks too? xD that kinda confuses me lol
Pretty neutral hehe. The name fits, that's all ;D
I think the folding is accented by the increase in length of the arm (from shoulder to elbow).
