Wow, monthly 3rd place, nice job!
I like how it looks like he's being caught by the camera. Almost invokes feelings of sympathy
I don't know how I haven't seen this piece until now, love the expression and character!
Gah! I really love the colors in this a lot! It came out very well!Congratulations!
umm...no upset but i really don't know why this one won O.o
oh well...congratulations..
nope: I sketched it by hand, acquired it and then used the sketch as a base reference for the work. The sketch itself was minimal, just to have the right proportions for the body anatomy and door.
The whole was done in grafx2.
so I clicked the WIP, do you sketch out in high res in Photoshop (or a clone) first and then reduce to pixel?
I am really crazy about this. The sense of form, the softness, it's just wonderful, really. Obviously a favorite.
I bet that is not even water in there, it is moonshine! And it doesn't disturb the piece in my opinion. It looks perfect to me!
I suppose the water can might be a little too light, but it didn't stick out for me. Lovely piece.
yeah, great work. The work on the light is very convincing.
Thanks everyone for the great appreciation, comments and critiques you've added here.
I've spent a lot of time on this piece, and now you can see the WIP as I added it on the description.
On the latest comments about contrast: unfortunately time and color count restriction didn't helped me, even if I've done a lot to correct it. The scene itself, being nightly and with the snow and done enterely by mind, without any reference (the only reference was used slightly for the cart) was really hard to realize, so atm I'm really appealed with it and even if I would like to improve a little bith the lighting on the wooden door, I'd leave it as it is.
@TheInquisitor: I'm working to adjust some pixels on the cart, as long as I really love that details, so I would like to correct them, thanks to pointing them out.
Only thing that bugs me is the lack of depth and what Inq mentioned. Great work though, you've got my vote. :]
Could've used a little bit moe contrast, looks kinda flat in a way. Other than that it looks very nice!
My only criticism of this pieces comes from the can of water hanging on the outside of the shopping trolly. There's something about it I don't like. I think it's either too bright or doesn't have enough contrast to convey its shape. It sort of sticks out like a sore thumb. You should try and sort that out, if you do, this'll be a perfect piece...in my eyes.
You should try and put more contrast in your work to give it more umpth.
This piece is beautiful. I kinda want to see the top of those lanterns though :P
Oh dag-nabbit. I was hoping to try and have a shot for the top 3 spots, but I certainly ain't beating this. What a fabulous piece and, judging by your other other submissions, a huge jump in quality! Great entry.
Aw, screw you. Since there werent many entries, I thought I would be able to finish third or something. Aw. xD
Awesome job.
