He means white because the flag is Red, WHITE, and Blue. Ya' know? XD
Yeah pretty much. Just something to experiment with. Have fun with it, go nuts. Fearlessly try new things.
Ok, here's my input.
Mathias - So you are saying to liven it up a bit, and give it a proper light source?
Reo - If it is a darker piece, that would be near impossible.
In a sense, you're right. Since my last comment was useless, how about some actual CC that may be useful -
Biggest issue here is contrast. Look around you, we live in a contrast filled world. Throw in some stark highlights or something. Choose color combos and light/dark shades that pop out at the eye. Attract our eyes. My initial impression of this is that it's not interesting, it's just flat and boring.
Did "light" even cross your mind? Seriously. Your light source. Think about such things like - where is my light source, where should shadows be cast, how is light altering colors, etc?
Also problematic is your perspective . . . there is none. Contributing to the monotony is your straight-on orthographic viewpoint. If this baby was tilted at even a slight angle it would feel more dynamic. I know the challenge requires a profile, but that doesn't mean straight flat, do you see what I'm sayin'?
That was a completly unnecessary comment Mathias!
@ the art, I'm thinking maybe it should have some white in it?
Ok, I did a different ship alltogether. How is it?
