I spent a few hours on this ... but I am out of time and will likely not have time to touch it again this week (before the contest is over) and I wanted to submit something. I have always liked the bulky "old school" look of fighter craft from the WWII era, and drew some inspiration from that. (though no specific reference) Since it's impossible to imagine the black bg as "transparant" I have removed it.
