The engine doesn't work with heat, it's pure windforce! and the wood is meant to be that way xD some sort of carving lol
light source isnt top either ;) it's south south east 60°
but they'd light the wings on fire should they output flame, or just enough heat for that matter. plus, the wings serve to propel the thing along anyway. not sure why I'm arguing with you . . .
nit-picks: make the top surfaces of the horizontal boards between wings and globe thing (one of which has grey AA -, those ones) lighter since your light source is above, I think this'll improve the lighting. And fix the broken battering ram thing in front, it looks like a loose chunk of wood just kinda hanging there, why not a metal covered tapered pointed ramming weapon.
I think this entry inspired a few other galleon ship concepts. Noice jorb on 'er! Love the shading, thouh I don't quite get the thre metal thing bottom middle. Cannons?

Beautifully rendered...I'd nitpick some that the "cel-out" on certain areas aren't necessarly needed, and the details inside the bubble aren't clear(kinda' seemed rushed, compared to the rest of the piece) but it's not something that takes away too much of what's already great...good job.
