This is a room where the trio rests.

This was done so I could fool around with lighting (the sun ray from the window)

Im going to keep working at it and get better. But im actually satisfied with how it turned out for a first try.

Well i use the 4 colour palette but i dont follow any size restrictions.

Hey, I say Jim's comment and I was wondering. Do you use only the GB pallete or the restrictions (sprite size and stuff) as well?

i like your sun ray experiment. it adds a huge load of extra atmosphere to the room/piece.

you could work a little bit on "letting the backgrounds be backgrounds". when you look at the pic (and almost close your eyes) it seems to be a huge gray blob, the sun ray exepted. the sprites don't stand out from the ground and it is almost impossible to see the subtle differences in the walls. but i don't want to tell you long stories here.

i think you will enjoy very much (as i did) these useful tutorials, which are very interesting and all so old school.
