Come to think of it, the trees way in the background should still have some moonlight glow on them since the moon lights everything...but, none the less, you get my vote for the competition
i really like the mix of doublesize dithering for the sky, the artistic effect really works here
No worries-please! I live in wildlife central and most of my friends are giraffe-lovers so I've had to paint and draw a few! Only reason I noticed, please don't take the crit too seriously - I love this piece!!!!
Yes, I completely knw what you are talking about, in my defence I have never drawn any animals before. Also, my first idea was to make the whole giraffe a bit more cartoonish, which you can see didn't happen.
I do know it's not perfect, but for being the first animal I have ever drawn I don't think it's the worst, but of course you can have your own openion. Since I began the whole scene I did know it wasn't good, and I did try to make it look like the girafe was looking up, like our angle is from the ground, but I need more angle practise. Thanks for the comment :) Exactly what I have been thinking from the beginning.
I really like it! The AA is a bit splotchy but overall the effect is interesting. One crit though is the pose. He's looking straight up at where it is in relation to him in the picture, but in reallity the moon is far off in the distance, and if he was looking at the moon he would be turning away from us to be looking at it. The moon is not straight above him.
I love this piece! You had one itty bitty little oopsie with the anatomy of the giraffe - body too big...but it is a lively piece!!!!!
Wow, that's my favorite piece in the competition so far. Awesome.
Doood, I'm so going to try using that dithering technique some time. That gives a very interesting effect to the sky.
Very nice piece!
Awesome concept. The only think I dislike about the giraffe is that pointy part on her back. The dithering of the glow seems perfect for me.
Wow, I hadn't really looked at this before, but the more I do, the more I love it...
One problem for me, the neck could badly use some AA, and you had all the necessary colors already in your palette for that.
Hope to see more! ;-)
