Seeing this guy made me open my eyes wider - he really pops off the screen. When you said on the thread that shading flat planes were hard, then put up the finished picture...well I could hardly believe the skill in turning that into a field of interesting shapes. The colours and shading really sells it for me, and the whimsy is the cherry on top. Definitely gets my vote. (love the hat!)
@Dex (and others): Yeah, I think that the head's lighting is definitely off, needs to be shifted to the right. That shadow under the hat isn't helping matters either- not even sure wht I put that there now.
@Elk: Well, ever heard of shark leather?
@Perkele, Cassio: Whyever not? ;D
@Everyone else: Thanks :)
The nose looks almost pillowy, and the lightsources are really wonky. It looks like there's a different source for each body part. The coloring is alright, but it looks kind of grainy and as Elk said, kind of leathery.
It's alright overall, you're getting better
I just can't imagine him saying "I have lost my crystal, will you find it and bring it to me?"
Anyway, nice work.
That's fucken insane!! 5/5 some of the best shading ever.
The shading of individual pieces is nice, but overall depth is lacking. Jawsome regardless :D
I wouldn't bring him the crystal...Otherwise, good work, somehow reminds me of the shark in the HoF.
Wonderful shark! Ahoi, sailor!
