A Castlevania inspired sprite.  The lineart was NOT done by me but by a professional comic book artist.  I however did color it in.  I imagined this is what Castlevania sprites would eventually look like (as far as size and detail go) but alas Konami is not willing to put in that much effort on a 2D Castlevania game.

I love this sprite.  I think he needs some sort of weapon. Maybe a long sword

With a little more contrast, i would have though SNK, but its not quite.  i like the look, but i think you could have gotten away with a little more contrast if you had mixed colors more (conservation here is minimal - though you did use only 16, so you get to have the small filesize).  I think that the only thing is has trouble with its its minimalist approach to contrast, which would greatly improve it.  go on, get rid of a few of the lavenders and show me some deep purple, you know you want to!  That or you like your own style and i should shut it ^^

!! i don't mean to offend by editting, its just somehting i got used to on pixellation that i found works really well for crits !!
Here is the sort of thing i mean, by changing some colors around to make a more bold figure that fits in a wider array of background tones:

Other than that, pose is great, shading is good, and the minimal outlining really work in your favor

i love hte charcter, the foils are very well done. It could use a tad more contrast to make it popout more but its nothing major..

The big problem imo is the saturation, you overabused it, you should try using less saturated color, i can assure you it would look great :D

Very nice job

Actually they have put in enough detail, but you gotta realize they can't always use the full 16 million colors on a single sprite, sometimes they have to limit themselves to a palette. And the sprites are often much smaller. You'd need a really high screen resolution to get THAT much detail in a sprite. But enough ranting, it's really good, very good coloring. I almost feel like the

Beautiful muted colors and a really nice command of the figure.
