 The "Hippy" and "Emo" ones made me lol. 

Anyway, while one of them look pretty cool, others lack detail and definition. You could tell me that the unicorn was a table with a candle on top of it and I would believe it.

Hey, pretty good work. Some of them are crap (unicorn, nymph), but some are actually pretty cool (witch, herbalist, succubus, wraith).

I think the problem with some of them is the long stretches of perfectly straight lines. Look at boomstick, there are two parallel lines running all the way down him, it makes him look boring. Again on necromancer and deadwood, tons of straight lines. Now look at your witch and succubus, there are no points with big straight lines. The succubus isn't amazing, but it is pretty good, and it's definitely not boring.

The witch is probably the best because it is the most interesting, it has the most details. The cat, pot, pointy shoes, details on the hat, etc... The wraith is cool too because there is a good amount going on, it's not boring.

The unicorn is such crap because it is just a bunch of rectangles. Boring. The nymph sucks because of a failure of trying to express what you wanted. Looks like instead of deleting and trying a different approach, you just said, "screw it" and called it done. I don't see any descernable arms or legs, or body for that matter.

Anyway good work, keep it up.

Nymph, I had a bit of a problem with the nymph. I really wanted to show off her 'features', but if I made her waist any bigger they'd be lost and she'd end up looking like a bloated sack of crap. So I went with a slightly exaggerated look. And no, she's not about to fall over, she's just swaying her ass seductively.

Unicorn, iLKke's werewolfs seemed rather rectangular, I tried to do something similar. But yeah, it does seem funky. >_<

Hippy, he's off in lala land due to... um... *cough* 'alternative medicine' as indicated by the smoke. XD

Raven, OMFG I'm retarded! X_X

Necromancer, at first I tried to have him hold it from the bottom, then the side, then the top, but the features of the skull were lost to his hands everytime. So now he holds it from the inside, like a sock puppet. :P

Deadwood, 1 extra pixel should fix that problem. XD

And yeah, I'll go tone down the colors a bit.

Critique points +1:

Nymph - Her waist seems far too thin. Also, she's about to fall over.
Unicorn - its body looks far too rectangular.
Hippy - What? Also, the text is off-centre.
Ravan - you can't spell a word that's a part of your own name O_o?
Necromancer - looks good, but how is he holding the skull?
Deadwood - Also looking good, except for the hands which seem far too linear and the branch on the left which doesn't quite seem attached.
Witch - This is definitely the best of the lot.
Emo - =/

Overall, they look good, but your background colours seem far too saturated. They start to compete for attention with the characters. Have a look at iLKke's saturation levels...
