Gorgeous shading in all of this - some nice painterly touches...
Just seeing these makes me want to try the game. Great work.
thanks everyone~
DJD: thank you for the comment. I most certainly agree, I could have added many more things to this, but you're right, I was going for more of an open word feel. Adding the said suggested things would definitely increase the atmosphere in this piece and I will totally look into it. Thanks =)
Though I carried the simple complaint that, although this is great pixeling, they are very boring pictures, I then thought how the game is about exploration, and imagined this to be a more detailed version of Knytt stories, and it starts to make sense. I don't necessarily think you need more enemies or HUD effects, but some simple things like butterflies or flowers or little puff plants etc would really round out the atmosphere
Fully aware of that =) I'm not too far into production so enemies haven't been thought about all the way yet! Will update with proper enemies and some extras as soon as I get to that point though, thanks bud =)
The rendering is very nice, but in each screen I feel like I'm missing something.
Maybe it's a lack of real details in the enviroment, or a real lack of enemies. It just feels kinda empty.
It's all great but especially those mountains on the top right panel.
Only thing that sticks out for me is the rocks at the bottom in the background in the bottom left look a bit wierd - they might look better more tesselated / symmetrical or maybe more random and natural - at the moment they're kind of in between and look a bit odd.
really very good :D , especially the 2nd level , with the old man .
I like the characters very much!
All the rest is really nice as well, however, the chains in the fourth picture seem too smooth compared to the rest of the mockup.
I 5'ed it dude. It's really nice stuff. Looks like it could be an interesting game too.
it takes alot for me to give a favourite my standards of what i like are often rather high. but i have to say this is by far one of the best game mockups i've seen. and i don't just mean on this website.
Awesome work, this could totaly be a great game.
But I don't know, the pipes are a bit too used for a lot of games.
Looks might snazzy i have to say.
Looks to be a snazzy adition to the world of 2d exploration games.
Top right is quite good, It sure deserves to become a piece by itself, without any game constraints.
The background pillars look like floating in cloud, if deliberate that's a good idea! Animate them!
This looks seriously awesome. I really like all the colors and the pixeling is of course great. I especially like the palettes of the rocks in the top left and bottom right ones. I think the background of the top right looks amazing, and kind of puts the other ones to shame. The rest are much more tiled, formulaic and kinda boring. They look good, but just not the same. But overall looks great.
If you make this into a game, it'll be totally great.
Very nice use of colors--especially with the bricks and the pipes. Very well done!
ur gonna be on the weekly showcase for sure -.-' [again]
well finally you're making a game. After the other 2 you 'put on hold,' yeah right. Haha. Great work buddy!
Very nice work. I like the little protagonist and the environments seem to be based on the standard from platformers however you've given each your own twist and it's definitely not boring to look at.
The old man lacks some contrast i think.
Amazing :D
One slight niggle: The pillars are all cracked more on the right than the left. Dunno why that stood out so much to me o_O
Oh, also, can't really tell if the background of the bottom left one is meant to be clouds or tree canopy.
Very nice. A word of advice; make grass tiles have a visible margin or seem to let the player know which part you can walk on and which part you will fall through.
If there were, like, a machine to make things from the computer come to like, this would be the first thing I'd hump the hell out of.
Nice!
