suqwire: he is the best horse ever.
he no has head and has human body.
like an superman.
sure that is how they are portrayed in the movies... but... have YOU ever actually seen a real centaur run? :P haha I think it looks sweet. Maybe with the arms he gets more momentum - i think it looks cool
Awesome, but as you can see in different fantasy movie like Narnia, centaurs keep their arms practically still, like a human riding a horse.
Oh wow . . . didn't know about Muybridge's work. Great to know.
Love the sprite. Biggest gripe is the rubbery waist (area between hind and front legs) flexy movement. Don't ask me how to "improve" it, though.
The head movement ruins it for me. I don't see why so many people incorporate it into their run cycles. It is a cancer to a good run cycle.
Woow! This motion is so charm! Especially, a tail is pretty wounderful! Umm...!
I'm not worried too much about realism here. The swinging arms convey a sense of urgency that's lost if I hold the upper body still.
The lower half is good but I don't think the motion of the human part of his body makes any sense at all, a quadrupedal run cycle has a completely different balance than a bipedal one, so there's no need for him to be swinging his arms or turning his head; having him just hold still and bounce with the gallop like a horse jockey would feel much more natural.
I could watch this little centaur forever....fantastic animation.
Nice dude=))
His swinging arms motion makes him extremely cute in appearance. Remind me my childhood when I tried to run away from the evil chasing puppy.=)Thouhg his front arm in mid position interfair with a belly breaking the flow a bit. I would keep it longer in extreme state, but thats not really critical just caught the eye. Awesomly done.=)
Love it. Helm is right about the head motion though. Still, great job! :D
That's great, I love it, besides the fact that he can't see where he's gallopping towards due to the excessive head movement! Makes him look panicked
amazing animating skills :o I wish I could make something like this.
I don't know about the arms swinging, makes it have "character?" I dunno, but I like it and dislike it at the same time. One thing I noticed is when the hooves are in the front, they look kinda like if her were running with loose socks on haha. and the human part of him seems to get fat when he's facing more towards us, and skinny when he turns, not that big of a deal though, hardly noticable.
hmmm.... took a second look at this and I don't mind the swinging arms. Maybe it fits for a cute/funny puzzle game. Nice anim did you use 'stretch' technique for the front hooves to make it look faster?
great horse-like running animation but the body + arms just seems too jerky to me. Still great though, hope you get a job soon :o
un diseño muy limpio, excelente animacion, muy realista, felicitaciones por el gran trabajo realizado 5/5 and fav.
I think it might be better if he doesn't swing his arms it looks like the thing is unbalanced for some reason, at least an imo
Agree with sharp - Never seen a err... "conventional" centaur swing their arms.
But saying that, who sticks to conventions? Great anim :)
I usually don't care much for sprites, but I could watch this for a while... I can't believe it's so fluid!
One thing to bother me: the two arms get exactly in the same position at some point, this is confusing.
This looks great, and it does looks mooth, just like you wanted it to be. Colors are tasty.
I don't think a centaur would swing it's arms while running either, I think because a lot of the force of the run is coming from far behind him, and not in his front, but I don't know, I think it adds character to the animation. Actually, if I had to imagine a scenario to describe this piece, I'd say something along the lines of human turned centaur and is still getting adjusted.
Good work!
ITs great but why does he swing his arms? Surely he should lift them up and down or something. Swinging the arms would be for running because legs are swinging forward (im guessing).
What kinds of puzzles was this guy going to solve? Looks great anyway.
