nice piece. assembly.org seems to be down at the moment, so: i wonder what the difference was between gfx competition and extreme gfx competition..
if extreme gfx was thought to be the oldskool gfx competition then - judging from the winning picture - the jury needs to be replaced next year.
Thanks for all the kind words :) I've just recently started working with the C64, and it's pretty tough, at least compared to other forms of pixelart, the pallette is rather tricky. Hope to start something new really soon though, just to make sure I keep practicing it :)
Heh, the difference between the extreme graphics compo and the regular one, is that the entries in the extreme compo need to eighter be executable files (no larger than 4k for new machines, and 46(?) for the oldschool ones), or they need to be able to be shown on the old hardware, a 486 I believe. Maximum resolution ought to be 320*240, 16 colors.
This is a bit of a problem, mostly because it pits very different pieces against each other, and makes it incredibly hard to judge. Oh, and about the jury, it's basically comprised by all the attendants at the party, so most people there aren't demosceners. :)
