You could probably take out like 11 colors of this, and I completely agree with onek.
its nice, rly atmospheric, BUT.... if thats the style u wanna achieve: overcolored gradients, soft look etc...., maybe pixelart isnt the right medium to realize ur art. pixelart mainly is about color reduction and putting a lot of detail in very small scale pieces, by wisely deciding which pixels are needed and which are not. also u should use your colors wisely, for instance, you have an incredible amount of shades for ur sand color, with which u could easily antialias the dunes edges, since they look rly jaggy now (which doesnt rly match with ur desired softness), also the dithering on the sky isnt rly necessary, the tones are too close, so that u cant rly tell theres a gradient at all, 2 or 3 colors would be enough, i guess, especially when dithered. also the outline on the face looks rly jaggy, i think it would work much better if u use selective outlining.... much more to say but ...yeah...
I love the atmostphere of this piece.
