very well done work,an an good preformed idea,i like it ~ to me fevorites!
Fire doesn't really look like that, in my experience. It's really nice other than that, though.
This is amazing!
Now, about the flames... ;-D
First, I'd like to see the first version, you might want to link to it.
I didn't realize it was a burning city at first, I saw a pyre, it looks rather near and small. I think this is because you chose a too-bright color, when the landscape itself is hazy.
I like Shannon's white flames, but I'm not sure they really address this issue.
Also, the spaces between buildings (I suppose) are too even.
I think the red is fine, as it puts emphasis on the fire.
I dont like the red much. I would also suggest an off white color or dark brown perhaps instead. Aside for that though, its really nice. I love the waving flag by the lone figure.
edit:// i fooled around with some of the colors a bit. I think that if you do go with red it would have to be pretty desaturated to fit well with the rest..just my opinion though

Lure of the temptress did some good stuff like this. You should change the red flames to white or off white. Smoke would be good too.
Ok ok, so you convinced me to ditch my rather 'tenticular' fire and I essentially started the fire animation from scratch. It is now much less static as it was as well and now a much less 'pink' red, however it is still on the colder spectrum of red. Also you might as well forget about the comment I wrote on account it's no longer relevant. Infact I shall delete it...
Hahaha ok. Due to popular demand I shall edit the flames. The colour choice was to contrast the warm tones of the piece with a *quote* cold *endquote* red. Though I agree that needs editing now that I've come back to it some 1 day later and I did initially rush the flames, so I shall see what I can do...
I like how, even though they were all killed, every man on the battlefield made sure to point his weapon stright up :P
The left part is just epic! the flames look a bit weird but it makes it look unique and more fantasy like. I like the abstract color use.
Flames look rather like alien tentacles. It really needs improvement.
the flames dont really look like flames, I thought it was some alian blob monster with four tenticles. maybe 1 of these could help as a reference, well its the best I could find

but I like it anyways.
Edited the flames and did some minor AA in the foreground :)
I really like this one, even if the flames are not what they could be for this picture.
