maybe you should have put a cast shadow on the wall.  Maybe Im just dumb but I didnt even think it was a wall, mainly because the sort of abstract pattern on it, I just thought it was some kind of pattern, I was wondering why there was some floating red blob, now it makes sense.  Anyways its a cool picture though.

True, and the second tomato is still hanging on that invisible wall. It wouldn't if it cast some shadow on the actual bg.

Good idea, playing music behind invisible walls if you're not sure about the audience!

I always rush a background for the sake of last-second challenge entry touches, then regret adding one because the whole piece suffers :P  Looking now, the tomato must have splattered on an invisible wall before landing dead on the ground where it is, because it's too far in the foreground to have the splotch on the back of the wall.

This is great! You get my vote!

I'm not too sure about the bg, it's nice but doest it really suit this piece?
