I prefer 1 single comment whit 2000 bad words about me and my project and whit some advice that 2000 comments whit "ooh, good job" and staff like that ^.^

thanks for the advice ppl ^.^ that was exactly what i want :)

the problem is... that i've got to search for all the specific words you've tapped XD

the number of color... mmm... well, it's a bit hard to use a less number of them :\ for the background... i've used the lower number of color XD for my skills... but maybe for the work itself i've used too much of them, i completely agree whit you... but it's not easy for me XD at least not now...

Dithering... you mean this? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6d/Dithering_example_red_blue.png
Well... is the only method i know in pixelart... so i've overused it... also 'cause i really like it XD

ok, next point U.U the pose of the subject... i don't know really well Persona3... unfortunatly... a friend of mine had propose me this character, and i've think about him like a really strong and powerfull guy... so it wont be a problem for him to take the Lyra like that... and to me it looks cool XD that's all :)

Well... i'll search for this "interlaced dithering" XD you see... this is my first work... i don't know anything about the theory about pixel-art... could you suggest me other tecnics? it will be great ^.^

Aaah i've almost forgot XD the job is good or not?

"OOORPHEUS!" *BLAM*

I love Persona 3! On the topic of dithering, I'll agree with Manupix that you used too much of it, but I disagree that using more irregular dither textures would be a good idea for a piece of this size. I wouldn't say dithering was a bad choice here period, it just could have been better executed. I suggest you do some research on "interlaced" dithering. I would try explaining it in words, but I think it would easier to understand just by finding examples. A good general rule of thumb for 1x1 dithering is to pay careful attention to your diagonal lines and make sure they transition smoothly from light to dark (or vice versa, assuming the desired effect is a smooth transition between shades.) I'd also like to point out that dithering can totally be shiny, it just adds texture.

Well, since you ask...

First of all: 128 colors! Honestly, 32 should be more'n enough. Not that it's a point in itself, but reducing your color count will: help you find more creative solutions to shading, gradients and stuff; help you learn about how colors work together and seem to change according to their environment; make nicer pixel works!

Secondly, dithering: you're guilty of overkill there... Just use it where the texture it brings is needed. And whenever possible, find more irregular patterns than checkers. In this piece, apart from the bg, I don't see any part that would really need it, and I see parts that can't stand it: metal is shiny!

The bg can use it, but try to make it more pleasing to the eye.

Individual parts lack contrast, mostly the face, almost unreadable. Five pixels for the eye are 2 or 3 too many.

The lyra: I don't know how you're supposed to play this, but it looks heavy: how can he hold it so lightly at arm's length with one hand and play it with the other? Possibly it should rest on his thigh.

And, I'm not sure the outline works well with this realist style.

Looking forward to updates! ;D
