jal you're awesome..but i just really think the explosions are too dark. it feels like they are part of the sprites/background. i understand how in a game you want things to mesh well, but as a big fan of these types of shooters i think the prize we subconciously want is to see the destruction of the enemies we're fighting. hopefully im not getting too deep..but i think you should brighten up the explosions more..more yellows, maybe even a white center of the fire.
You're right, Fool. Maybe I'll replace a background layer or two with a bunch of connected sprites in the game so that I actually have a free layer with which to make some parallax stars.
Cool stuff=)
Stars feels a bit like snowfall, paralax might break it.
@Necroleachate, I think it all goes the same direction cuz of the fire it shoots while moving.
Very good sprites. They really catch the spirit of games from snes age, while still being unique.
Can I make a suggestion? Maybe making the green light source from the ball thing rotate oppositely to he ship rotation would make it more interesting.
Wow, you're really taking off with this project. Some nice looking stuff here.
@RoboBOT, The purple zapper sprite (early draft) is not going to be used in the game. If I didn't place it here I would have trashed it.
@ Oh, Jinn ^.^
DeProgrammer is rather lucky, I feel! All the sprites you've done for his game are great. One question, tho: The two ball shaped ships on the left have two very different light sources. Is there a reason for that?
your Delano stuff looks great- nice detail, color, animation
