Gave me a ton of insight into spriting trees.

This is my first real attempt at a tree, it took me quite awile;

Although I am quite happy with the way it turned out.

I'm having a bit of trouble tracking down stray pixels, but the color count still isn't much of a conern to me, as I've learned to really try and keep the colors down once I've got the sprite down.

That tree is awesome.

I shall bookmark it, and study it's leafy ways

(Oh, and about all of my sprites have pun titles)

I like treez!

I don't want to sound too critical here, but this is almost where it needs to be, and so deserves that last bit of work.

  1. The canopy is too small for the trunk
  2. The leaf texture is too small to 'read'
  3. The shadows are too dark
  4. The highlight is too glassy (as if tree were a plastic globe)
  5. There are too many colours

Please keep in mind that these are just a beginner's observations!

Take a look at this tree to help see what I mean.  Your tree has only two colour areas, green and brown, and doesn't need 21 colours to represent (the example tree uses ten).  As a personal opinion that you can regard or not, I also happen to feel that greens don't pop if they don't have yellow-enough highlights!

Please keep submiting, because the Joint needs more treez!

Thanks.
