robot carrying sheet seems bit unsafe (not centered). but yeah i think you achieved what you set out to, pic is interesting to look at.
I think the problem is the fingers are too spread, that is not the natural 'welcome' gesture I would expect. Maybe.
Manupix Ah, you cemented my fears. I made numerous variants of hand and perhaps should make more. To me it looks a bit strange too, but I have no clue why. Maybe palm should be bigger:

I think that background may give it's influence on the perception, but the hand should look right on any bg. Anyway, here are outlines are used and it makes each object to appear on it's own black bg.
