If you consider that an insult, I guess you never have been properly instulted by someone :D
I thought the lack of volume and depth was intentional in your style (more extreme in "Cyborg Charlie Got a New T-shirt") which comes from picking light sources near the viewer, which makes charlie seem almost pillow shaded but with more detail. As you have proven with "Wrath Be My Name" that youre able to create a better impression of volume if you want to, I considered it what i described a stylistic choice.
I know Dan Malone's work and also know speedball 2. The similarities to speedball 2s artwork, especially its sprites, is visible to me. Thanks for explaining :)
It's a "stupidification" - most people will recognize the style of Dan Malone but I suspect only a few know his name(?)...however I've noticed that art looking like anyhting like he has done is commonly labeled "Chaos Engine style" (although "Speedball 2 style" might be more accurate here). I'm not trying to mimic Malone...I love his art..but this is pretty much my own style too, and largely a result of physical limitations.
Anyways, thx 4 taking the time to insult my work!
I dont see anything chaos engine about this. Every portrait I can find in that game conveys much more volume than this piece does. I can see a certain amiga style going on here, but I just cant seeem to fing whats particularly chaos engine about it O_o
Heh, I was gonna say Chaos Engine before I clicked into it :P But you did already. lol
inspirational, great work, perfect AA, low palette, and I love the taste of Xenon 2 . fav !
