while doing an edit .... i recognized u got a lot of "ghost" colors going on, ... one single pixel unique colors that dont serve any purpose, maybe thats an indicator for some tracing u did... anyhow, heres the edit.. used 4 colors only, the difficulty is to keep all the details while loosing their colors... a lot can be done by clever shading and so on... i think it works quite well here.. personally i like the oldskool look much more... used c64 palette
hey guys,
added the cred for doppleganger and thanks for the all the feedback.
i'm really trying to learn how to be conservative with colours and trying to learn how to work with a limited pallette.

IsoWayne: Actually the still designs were done by Doppleganger, not me, but I've noticed that much of the pixel work on the little man sprite is exactly the same as his.
Bakatron: I'm sure Doppleganger won't mind too much about you learning from his work though, but I think you should credit him if you did use his as a template, which it certainly does look like you have.
Inq did some artwork for Urbansqualls Batallion which is at Kongregate.

Maybe observe his work and learn from him, I agree that 59 colors is a little much but they look very good and the first thing I thought of when I saw them was advanced wars so good job.
Very nice. 59 colors is a lot, even for me A nice thing about using fewer color is it's a lot easier to keep track of if you wanted to make changes or more of a similiar thing or even animation.
I could hardly believe that this was 59 colors, so I put it in GG, which said 61 :|. I like the AA, which will take me forever to learn, but he's right: there are way too many colors. Personally, I'd got for 16 because I'm not very pixel conservative. Also, I think this could use some transparency (if doesn't kill the AA), or some sort of background.
quite nice, but 59 colors are outragous.... if u use colors clever, with is essential in pixel art imo...u could get away with about 8 i guess.... or maybe even 4 , like gameboy or nes style
onek - thanks for the tip. i actually use the grid system when im learning. obnoxious as it sounds - its something i learnt in digital painting.
