There is something about your art--not just the subject matter; something in the lighting and the basic shapes--that is so distinctive, and soft, and round, and touchable. It's very appealing to me and it's especially evident in your sprites like this one. This is more of a general comment than a specific one about this sprite--sorry!
thx even if the edit wasn't better, if you learnt those construction lessons and drew one from scratch then it would definately look better (hehehe maybe ur construction is bad only because you drew yours in a hurry anyway).
im just learning the lessons but a pixel artist who i think has really good construction: http://www.pixeljoint.com/pixelart/44703.htm#
Well, your edit definitely looks better. I'm surprised you picked up on it at all though.
here is edit showing construction. if u think it helps at all check out John k blog, that is a great place to read the rules. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e199/sharprm/fox.png
i wouldn't know how proportions for face should be.
His left, or our left?
In any case, it's not supposed to sit flat on the ground like a platformer sprite. More like the kind of sprite you'd have on a big, wide-open background. As for the hips being messed up, you might be right. I can't see anything glaringly wrong there, but I can't say it looks great either.
I think my biggest personal issue is with the face and head. The proportions just seem weird, even for something that is inherently unrealistic.
nice stuff. :)
do you draw construction for plane feet sit on, and for perspective? if not maybe something to look into to make things little bit better. i think maybe the body is disjointed from hips. also his left foot falls through ground.
I really like your style man, and your Artic Fox dont stay back, gratz! o/
Looks nice, I like what you have done with the white colors. but the eye seems kind of weird.
But it's still cool...get it? Artic, cool ?
The red really stands out nicely on the white. While it might be a small detail, I think the ribbing on the lower pack in back is very convincing. And I like the belt. (Love it overall, too!) Great piece.
That's not small. Is 87 pixels high which to me (since I been mostly doing 16x16 stuff) is freakin' huge. Nicely pixelled though even though I'm not keen on the character design.
looks so soft <3 the colors are very soothing!
and psst i like your construction better :P
