An easy way to solve those background troubles  is to put a white outline around it.

I know, but I rarely place my stuff on really dark backgrounds, so I tend to ignore that and just do it. That's how pathetic I am -_- xD

Looks a bit like Michael Jackson.

The outer AA doesn't look good on darker backgrounds.

Very nice!  The hands are a little off, but I like the piece as a whole.  Great smile!

Agree with onek about the outlines. They're part of a palette problem actually: those 6 skin tones are too close in value and look random in hue; a darker shading tone would remove the necessity of outlines.

The hand is too big.

Hair and shirt are gorgeous! I like the style overall.

nicely done!... but id suggest removing the outline of hand and arm , also ur have a lot of banding issues going on 

i didnt think its a self portrait. its a fantasy selfportrait because when you look so in reality yes.. than... but the pic is nice
