166 frames (update: 177). Animation works at least with the latest Firefox and Opera. IE.. well, it's IE. I would've liked to refine this more but time is running out. Anyway, this is inspired by the relatively obscure Captain Tsubasa family of games, especially 3. CT3 is a two-player soccer game with over-the-top skills and kicks which annihilate opponents. The gameplay could be characterized as real-time with pause - when you have the ball, you can bring up a menu (for shoot/pass) with the press of a button. When an opposing player encounters the player with the ball, more menus pop up for action selection. I think the closeup from the rotating ball is the best bit of this animation, it looks really amazing! Nice overall style of this piece, too

I saw Captain Tsubasa as soon as i saw that run+kick animation. i am nostalgia'ed.

PS: the goal keeper's shadow and the goal's shadow doesnt match.

Just before the ball hits when you only see the silhouette of the goalie its shadow on the ground shouldn't be visible, since it has lines of shadow flying of its back.
