The Sandman is a closed and, mostly, chronological story, so keep that in mind when trying out. 

Although the first issues have a bit odd coloring (it was updated in Absolute Sandman edition, which is really sweet) the story is really worth overcoming the biases.

Ironically, I just watched It Might Get Loud last night, with some excellent stuff by Jack & Meg.
