im not sure i like the colors but what you drew looks alright. 'last ninja' was an amiga game that had really nice japanese looking backgrounds you should check it out if u want to make this tileset look more japanese.

The grass, rocks, and trees all blend together too much. Try changing up the colors. But you have nice shapes!
