Mirroring looks like a waste of skills, which you have.
There's some banding in the cane, too.
Congrats for your effort with edits!
Thanks for the help. I'll be sure to update this once I finish the edits.
I have a few suggestions. Here's a rough edit. To make the figure more feminine, I've narrowed the shoulders, shortened the torso, lengthened the legs and added definition to the thighs and calves. I also added an s-shaped contour to the apron so it looks like it's draped over her leg. Shifting the light source much higher adds more interest to the character as well. You could use it to emphasize more of her curves, and the resulting shadow on her face from her bangs adds a brooding/mysterious mood.
Assuming she's facing downwards, her neck looks way too long. If she's facing forwards, lower the ears. The lenses on the glasses are too far apart. I feel uncomfortable looking at them.
Oh, and if you're keeping the rose, add more shading/details to it. Same goes for the filigree. But I recommend removing it. The rose makes the piece more incomplete than it really is, and it draws attention away from your character.
And don't be afraid to experiment with different light compositions. It'll make your stuff at least twice as awesome. =)
Thanks for the critique. I edited it some more keeping your advice in mind. Anything else I could improve upon?
Yeah... the curves are a bit off. Right now it looks like a guy in drag. If you reduce the width of the shoulders, and bring more emphasis to the bust (either by lifting the color value or inverting the flower triangle from /\ to \/ ) it should look more feminine. The clothes look victorian, though the cane sorta clashes with the style. For the purple regions and the apron you could move the highlights up by a pixel or so as pillow shading on those parts flatten out the image.
The materials are nice. They suggest what they're supposed to. For trim that's 4px or so it does look like lace. I also like what you did with the corset. =)
love it.
