Okay, the idea here is good and bad pairing up for a greater good, in this case, the pillar that holds everything is cracking so they both have to join strengths to hold it up in place. But even in this situation, they're still rivals and yeah, the antagonism never dies.

Yeah, the apparant symmetry of the figures is quite detracting. Makes it look too much like a simple background tile. Nice dither work in the lower section though.
