This is so great, the background is really cool. And I love the preview image XD
i like the background it looks pretty cool. but the rest of the peice isn't as good as what the background is, and in my opinion that makes the background the best part of the peice which shouldn't be the case.
however if there isn't any better peices submitted then what i've seen so far, then your peice will get my vote for that background alone.
Really digging the simplicity of the background however, the main character seems pretty flat.
Hmm...
I guess I could make him stand up, but I'm not sure it'll matter because it wont ever be a real game, but I'll keep that in mind
Thanks :D
In terms of function, having a main character whose body is that long removes a lot of difficulty from any platforming sequences, unless you'll have some sort of animation where he'll tip over if say the edge of his body lands on the platform but not his center.
4 million high score! Wow!
Get that AK, mow down those fat bees!
Thanks, any suggestion on how to make it more exciting? :>
While the pixel work is nice(esp the background) It doesn't look that ''exciting'' .
Pretty cool - There's a little too much unused space IMO though.
Thanks for the tip, i think it looks better now.
And i doubt this game will ever happen because i'm 13 and I have no knowledge of how to code games xD
i fail at AA
i like the thick, uneven outlines but the shading is kind of messy, the colours lack contrast and are fairly uninteresting, and it could definitely use some AA.
also i want to see that game happen
do some research, find other peices and see how they seperate there characters from the background and look how they do this with the ground and any items as well. take a look at the palettes they used and how they were put into use.
once you have looked at all this you'll find the more you learn from doing this the more you'll start picking up and you'll begin improving stuff like this with little effort. i made a peice called sbot in my gallery which was an experement of mine when i was learning this.
