thankyou for your positive comments. it really makes me happy ^^
STACY - you need more confidence in your work MY DEARRRR <3<3 What I see is an amazing piece !!! INFACT, I only wish I could colour as well as you. Everything flows well and follows the theme. I love how they are in this slight orb and bubbles are floating away from it. Very cool effect <3 I want more!!!
@manupix: thanks i will deff. take a look at that pic. i dont know much about AA but i will take a look at some tutorials and other pictures.
thanks for all the positive comments guys. i really was not expecting them :)
The only anatomy flaw I can see (that isn't even immediately visible) is that according to the belly button, the hips are quite aligned with the shoulders and facing left, while the 'knees' might be facing right. You could say the body is arched, but then the tail doesn't quite follow. The pose might have been more impressive by keeping the same sinuous shape, but with the waist 'facing right', a visible rotation of the torso, and a good occasion to emphasize hips.
No this is not pillowshaded, it's actually a rather well-done soft diffuse light. On the mermaid at least, the fish might be a bit nearer to the dreaded pillowy thing.
I'd suggest studying this piece: specifically the dolphin's skin amazing lighting.
Less dithering, more AA. Oh, and anatomy! ;D (really not that bad, ya know!)
Very nice! A really good composition and use of colors. If you refined it a little more and maybe used less dithering this would be perfect.
Very nice colors and composition.
I'm no expert on hair, but the single white strands make it look jaggy esp. on the bangs. And maybe use some of the darker purples for the most shaded parts of the hair undersides for more contrast.
I love the colours, some lines are very jaggy, you could work on that.. but beatifully done, 4/5 from me.
Pretty :) But you forgot to mention, that you used some palettes by Utena: http://utenasama.deviantart.com/gallery/2789527?offset=24#/dur9da
