Ok, after spending a day on a lousy 177-frame anim you won't get to see, I decided to keep it simple. I might submit another or two, I have lots of fun ideas for this challenge!

Despite some hesitation, I took advantage of transparency for shading and, yes, AA too . Works on PJ default theme. Check here if it doesn't work on yours.

7 frames.

Just found today the German name (little Lübeck hat) of these things. German can be a hilarious language at times. Üch!

tomic (Level 11 Admiral) @ 2/13/2010 12:04

Wisteria (Level 1 Intern) @ 2/9/2010 05:45

That's such a cute animation, I can't stop looking at it :D

Manupix (Level 11 Godfather) @ 2/8/2010 03:40

Be as naughty as you like, it's not happening. x.x

Those 177 frames have no interesting concept, no fun, no drawing, lots of anim bugs that I can't get around, and no learning value. Except: stand back from your work and assess it, once in a while. Esp anims :(

And, thanks! =)

Manjaman (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 2/7/2010 06:24

Excellent cartoon-style animation. A bit too kawaii maybe ;) Didn't expect something like that from you, but it's a success.

Is there any legal or illegal way to see your 177-frames animation ? (I can become a really naughty girl if you want me to do so ).

Lóng (Level 1 Rookie) @ 2/6/2010 08:41

you aaed with transparency

On a sidenote I didn't know about the naming of those things I just used to call them hats.

Oh and good luck on the challenge

Pipro (Level 1 Intern) @ 2/5/2010 21:36

AS IF YOU YOU ARE BRILLIANT ENOUGH TO USE TRANSPARENCY AS A SHADE ON  THE RIGHT SIDE... WUT!?!? that.... .... (reads name) MANU?!?! lol figures..... you are so ace T n T <3<3 Deserve to win, love it <3<3<3<3#<nhs

Manupix (Level 11 Godfather) @ 2/5/2010 10:54

Thanks guys!

@ ska: one hard lesson of wasted time in animation is, one thing at a time, and don't throw what works. I actually tried to make the landing pose more twisted, for some reason I don't really understand it was worse. And I'll try to salvage something out of the 177 frames.

@ Perkele: they're often called cônes de Lübeck in French. What's funny, or should I say refreshing, is the sound those words make, and the little in Hütchen. Lübecker Hüt just wouldn't be right. You're a nation of poets. Danke!

Perkele (Level 4 Murderer) @ 2/5/2010 10:06

Never heard anybody use "lübecker" in front of "Hütchen", but good to know. And I don't know what is supposed to be hilarious about that

Considering the fact that you didn't spend too much time on this, it turned out extremly well, can't wait for your other entries. Weiter so!

M. Lucanius (Level 5 Soldier) @ 2/5/2010 08:30

very nicely done... I hope it does well

Dr D (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 2/4/2010 21:47

Awesome use of transparency! No matter what theme I choose, it makes a nice lighting or shadowing color in relation to the black and whites of the sprite. Kudos!

xXHalfieXx (Level 4 Lieutenant) @ 2/4/2010 21:29

Ya vat es guud.

NaCl (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 2/4/2010 20:29

So much personality! I love it

dpixel (Level 9 Vice President) @ 2/4/2010 18:59

I usually don't like this style, but this is friggin awesome.  It just looks so excited.

Shrub (Level 1 Rookie) @ 2/4/2010 18:22

Simple but fluid.

Great rythm.

skamocore (Level 11 CEO) @ 2/4/2010 18:17

' u ' - Das ist sehr gut.

Maybe you could make him bend to the left and then bend to the right. Also, wouldn't it work better on a red bg?

Come on show us your 177 frame animation :(
