oo no i had it looking at the viewer too, i think is because of the contrasrt that the dark hair gives on the back like yu gi oh LOL
To me, the reason why you've kept the second one is because he's looking at the viewer. Try putting the eyes (pupils/iris, anyway) of the second one on the first one and see what you think.

But as buddy90 said, you should crop the sleeve
pretty good effort roller, although i think the first frame is better and that you should crop the bottom where the sleeve sticks out.
