Love the watercolor feeling this gives off. Very nice. :)
Maybe it's just some of the warmer colors...such as the orange and darker red and maybe even the yellow that don't feel like winter. I'm from New England and the contrast of the seasons is very evident here. Even the exposed leaves on the ground are much more of a muted orange even with the sun on them.
Maybe this will explain what I mean. This is a picture from my front window from about a month ago: http://i45.tinypic.com/357qayu.jpg ...and unfortunately it still looks like this. :-(
There are a ton more, just look up WPA posters on Google. I think they're awesome. The world's first vector art :D
Thanks for all the nice comments, and for that link: those posters are wonderful! =)
I love you
The shading is nothing exceptional but the colors are really, really good. They remind me of posters for the various US National Parks that were commissioned during the Great Depression as part of the WPA... http://thecraftbegins.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/park-posters.jpg
Thanks guys! Glad you like it.
@ dpixel: look again! There's more color everywhere than you think, both in what we see and in how we see. Learning art is mostly learning to see, and I love it.
@ AB: the pointy things would be cypresses. The ones in the middle are small oaks, not sure about the exact species. Their leaves die but many don't fall for months, they're a very nice light brown.
@ ska: thanks, good point. I guess I AAed too uniformly, there's too much of it in some other places.
Just stopping by to say that I really like it.
By the way, how called those trees which have leaves intact?
Real pretty. I've already saved DPalette, guess I have to give it a spin now! :D
you're fantastic
you're one of my favorite people
I really like this, I don't know exactly why, but its really good.
It does look like water color. :D Hmm, colors are nice too, really nice job on the leafless tree. The red trees look a bit odd, but with the palette you have its pretty good.
I'm not seeing much in the way of winter colors...At least not where I'm from. Nice palette none the less.
Manupix, my first thought on this was that you did it! The crazy palette gave it away. Your color usage never ceases to inspire me.
Nice colors!
