Weekly Challenge: My Love From Outer Space
@ Jetoolta - AA means anti-aliasing. It's the technique where you place pixels of a slightly different color to make shapes or lines seem more smooth. Like I did on the red part of the clouds or around the heart (and a lot of places in this pix for that matter).
Good picture! This has an old game feeling, which is a good thing for me :)
The alien looks smoother on the rendering side of things, or is it just me? The edit's you've done on this piece makes everything feel tighter.

A wise man once said "Keep dithering sparse if any."
Your dithering removed any sliminess that she had before; remember dithering inherently produces a rough texture. If you really feel you must dither her, it would probably be best to do it subtly - check out some pokemon sprites for example; all of them use dithering, but it is used very sparingly.
If I were you I'd really consider reverting the dithering on the alien.

Spectacular background and colors, and great idea
Nice little image. Love the style of the bench. Background is fine but lighting could be adjusted as mentioned by others. I would revisit the shading on lower tentacles too, looks a little unrefined. Nicely drawn and pixel pushed otherwise.

Light: agree something should be done, but not much really: darken those lower tentacles, maybe the alien's left side as well.
Keep dithering sparse if any... It more urgently needs some AA, esp in the orange/red highlights.

Awwwww! This so sweet! A very nice and touching picture.
The clouds are alittle jaggy. Other then that I can't really find a flaw in the background.

I only see one prob. The alien needs dithering. That's it.
Well, the lightning of the couple and the dusk background dosen't really match. The characters should have been more shadowy and orange lightning. That's one of the things I just don't have the time to fix right now
