Much better than the forst one, esp. the trees in the back.
Not sure about the wooden platforms, tho. They look a bit out of style. Also, color-wise they blend into the bg.
with "the other game" you mean kill the pikakiris? becouse this is not some kind of replacement of it is a diferent project, when i said i didnt liked the old one i was talking about another mockup i made of this same game!

the other game that was using these graphics worked 100 times better than this. this seems like some half ass attempt for attemption more then anything else. if you don't like you old character design use your existing palettes and whip something up rather then redoing the entire thing.
also liking the wood texture on this peice, its the one thing i look at and really applaude you for.
You should really have the "fire" button pressed down.
lacks shadow on the floor (cast by the sun), and the buttons look weird in the upper part, too much black in there.
and head looks like it's gonna fall, to the back..
still it's very impressive
right now what we have is lots of non animated sprites tilesets and backgrounds, now im in the step of animating the girl, ill show something soon :3
