I decided to take my old cave story styled portrait that I've been using as an avatar and adding in more detail and shading. This was mainly a practice sprite for portraits since I suck at those XP without the background this only uses 22 colors.

Looks good man! Nice work. Only thing I'd do is add a highlight to the eye, to make em pop a bit more. Nice work on the hair especially

Color blobs? Looks better anyways, the gradiented one made the hair look odd.

Ermmm yeah, no gradients. :/ Dithered backgrounds look better IMO anyways.
