A small part inside of me just died... You soooo amazin'!
Congratulations on your fantastic win! The piece is very striking and sharp!
Congratulations! your texture effect is really great, i've learned a lot by studying it :D
Thanks. My father plays upright bass so I guess its only natural to want to be a jazz musician :)
A jazz guitarist? Since you were little?
Ok... I don't really bite it, but the art looks fantastic. Congratulations.
I love it. The guitar looks too great I'm a fan of Jazz too ^^
@Manupix: Rene Thomas reminds me a bit of Kenny Burrell, nice stuff!
Perhaps we can do a jazz greats collab?
the lower hand, seem a bit to bloby. but its totaly amazing ;)
@Manupix: Ah, I see the effect it creates, more volume in the fabric, nice :) You'd like The Rosenberg Trio if you like Gypsy Swing ;)
I think the dithering you added in the face needs some cleaning, it's a bit too flat now. Sorry, I made my edit from the former version ;)
Btw, I love jazz guitar too, but I don't really know Joe Pass. I'll definitely look for him!
@onek: Ok you win, lol. The majority of comments agree with you so I have made some changes
Very nice colors and texture. Onek is right for the leg and the shoulder, but the whole thing looks great.
DUDE! Don't be a guitar player. be an artist! omigosh the texture on the coat is just amazingly executed. Man! Don't get me wrong it is very good. but I do think that the skin in onek's edit looked better. It conveyed some of the more inperfect qualities of the skin of an older(ish) person while also giving more detail (wrinkles).
overall I give you a 5/5 anyway :)
Very nice use of the palette. I'm wondering though, where's the other end of the guitar strap? Although it's hard to tell if he's even using one in the reference. Very nice job!
looks amazing, love how you totaly owned that pallette!
@Manupix: Thanks, can you point out the areas where you feel dithering is not needed on the jacket? Cheers :)
EDIT:- Dunno what happened here, was a blank post :S Can't see any way to delete my post.
Very good color pick from the palette!
The jacket could use a few spots without dithering.
@onek: I agree with your shoulder edit, looks much better, but the skin dithering, and the leg don't look right to me.
I think the shoulder is off because in the ref he is angled a little more to his left.
oh, now i saw right hand from him, is to fat, or his fingers are to smal
Thanks. I didn't want to make the skin look rough, and its hard to detail it with so few colours :S
EDIT:-
Fixed ref link (hopefully), it worked for me both before and after.... maybe its a location block or something?
rly nice... love the guitar and the texture on the jacket.... but i think the head ( skin...) could need some more details, texturing, dither... it looks unfinished compared to the rest...
btw the reference link doesnt work
wow , beautiful
