Love the vintage look to it!!!

 Wow, it's kind of cool that everyone's avatar is the same color! All in a column!

 All of trees, mountain and clouds are suffering from a pillow shading look, try picking a light source from more to one side so that you can get more depth.

I like the text.

 Interestingly, that's exactly the piece I was looking at before I made this :P forgot to reference it! Yeah, I agree about the water texture, too. I have an idea for it, I think. This is the first time I've actually completed a pixel art overworld piece, so... :P

EDIT: Ok, I brightened a lot of the colors and knocked a few unnecessary ones out. Also fixed the water up a little bit. Just a quick fix.

Colors are slightly dull.  If its the style of the game then ignore this, but maybe colors should be more like this piece. :D

Water texture could be improved too.
