Thanks for the comment onek :) Yeah, on the flower, I was playing around with colors and I guess I forgot to change the color back xD
As for the color edit, I love the new colors, but it would look extremely awkward on a different tileset ;D
And yes, this will be playable one day. You can count on it. :>
i like it, i hope this is rly going to be playable one day, what ive seen in the forum so far is very nice...
about the colors, personally i dont see much of a problem with them, its just a matter of style, although i think there isnt rly much of diversity to them. it somewhat looks like a recolored gameboy screen imo.... there arent much , but i think u could do more with 6 colors... actually its 7(..the blue on the left flower is slightly different... )..
also i agree with wolverine about the distractingness of the walltiles, i think they, and the character , are overall too dark and seem like a big, dark, solid block at first/ fleeting glance ..
anyway heres an color edit, i think it has more of gamish appeal( although it might be too saturated, and the green sucks , but yeah.. too lazy to upload again....)
Wrong. I've played games that made this mistake before and it despite things moving about I was constantly distracted by the poor choice in colors like here where the blue is kinda popping out of those tiles, it's just not working with that brown. Thing is if you remove that blue all the remaining colors look kinda sickly. Don't want to be harsh but those colors just don't look appealing together at all.
Idk with the colors, it'll be a totaly different expierience when playing.
@wolverine I know what your saying but I'm pretty sure anyones eyes are drawn to moving objects then colors and so on.
@wolverine i disagree with you there
other than the ground texture this is great
nice colors (except ground texture - eye-hurting), excellent robots and the tree. the cog, in my opinion, doesn't fit there and it doesn't look good.
The blue in the wall tiles in particular isn't going well with the brown and it's drawing my eyes away from the characters and platform areas which isn't a good thing in a game.
Thanks, but since I;m trying to only use 6 colors as a challenge for the entire game, I had to use extremly unsaturated colors :c
It is pretty ugly, but unless they're actual pixel artists, I don't think they'll gripe on it :)
This mockup does not do your project justice without it being animated.
I would suggest placing a link to the WIP thread in the description, at least.
The blue pattern on the tiles is kinda distracting, and looks blurry. I like all the colors except for the background color. Also, the tiles and the bots seem to be in very different/contrasting styles. It looks hard to focus on the actual game. But I love the style you used for the bots, and this would still be a fun game to play.
