The palette reminds me of 90's 1st person adventure games, which I love. Everyone has commented on the pose but I find the pillow and the drape very artistic and dreamy.. 5/5.
People love pointing out the flaws on this site and being rude about it too. Like they are some master pixel artist or something. It's funny how most the people who point out the flaws are no where near as good as you too. Good job on this, looks great!
Thanks guys for the crits, I'll take them on mind for my next work hehe. I've been trying to do some nudes on oil painting so I can train my eye.
I didn't use any reference for this, but I was highly inspired on Venus of Urbino.
I was going for a more chubby girl taking in mind old paintings .
Originally the drawing was going to have a back support so the weight was going to be splitted with the pillows. I didn't do it like that at the end and forgot about the postion.
Hey, not bad!
Some crits:
There is a stray pixel between her rib and the pillow. Her areolas look inflamed and probably should be more brownish. Her belly button could use one less pixel at the bottom. Oh, and I think, given her chubbiness, the slit for the belly button would go horizontal rather than vertical. The bed (I assume it's a bed) has a very sharp corner judging by how the fabric draping over it goes from light to dark in one pixel. I think if it was at least 4 pixels, it would make it look softer and more bed-like. The pose seems a tad awkward and twisted in an unnatural way. Also, her stomach seems very bloated, like she's pregnant (not sure if that's what you were going for). Sorry if I'm being overly critical, just some honest observations. Hope they help.
She looks a little overweight :P Oh well, good texture on the bed.
I agree about the pose. I think if she were sitting in a chaise type thing, with her arm resting on the armrest, it would look more natural and plausable (ie fix the issue sticky mentioned about the pillow not caving realisticly under her weight) The bellybutton, area between her breasts and the top of her stomach roll have some issues as well. Overall its beautiful- the breasts, palette and lighting are especially well done.
Also, how old is she supposed to be? By looking at her body I would think around 25-30, but her face looks like a 40-45 year old woman's.
I absolutely love that shes not stick thin though!
The rendering is nice, and the palette choices equally as pleasing!
Did you use a reference? Her pose looks rather uncomfortable and tiring, the way she is propping herself up against just her elbow. And the pillow looks like it would have to be as stiff as a human body, the way it is not caving under her weight very drastically, yet is supporting the bulk of her upper weight leaning against it.
I think it would look more natural (her pose, how the weight is distributed against the arm at the angle her upper body is at, anyway) if you had her left arm (our right) stiff instead of bent, with her hand on the bed being the anchoring point for the weight, instead of the elbow on the pillow.
That's all I can see at the moment though. Keep up the good work!
Sorry in advance if you had a reference that was visible on your videos. The powerbook G4 I'm using gets pretty tired whenever I try and watch youtube videos or flash content on it so I did not review them.
Wow this is so good, nice pose and amazing shading, textures are speechless
Ooh mama. Look at the curves, pro pixelling here! :P
