This is so simply yet detailed, I can't quite put my finger what's so awesome about this, but it definitely is awesome!

I agree and thank you for the edit. I had made a small edit taking out the mat completely, removing some of the floor and increasing the length of the wall. There was no real size restraints or anything, so I just made the canvas slightly smaller.

you can go around this mat issue just by changing the composition; imo theres no practical reason to show that big a portion of the floor. if you think it fitting, just erase the carpet and show a bit of the wall -- e.g. http://stuckinthe90s.eu/pixels/work-ss.png

btw, i really love your style. its very distinctive. not only in this work, im thinking about all these lo-res pieces of yours. i may do a 'fan work' if i find some time down the road :)

 haha, yeah, my first reaction was, what could be in the clost, where it's over-flowing with blood (what with the drips at the top)

The mat sticks out a bit much with its lack of a shaded outline like the entire rest of the piece.  And I want blown up pictures of dithering on my wall, too!

Like, only issue is the carpet

 But where is the keyboard?

the relative sizes of the objects is off (compare door/clock to the rest of the image) but that doesn't affect that beautiful simplicity you do so well. You know how to make stuff pop as well. I could reach out and touch everything on that desk.
