It's made to go into a game with a target. So he actually does get his sword caught and have to pull it out. And the no sword part is to show his unarmed sprite and avoid animation.
the jump scene and the scene where he raises and also the scene where he somewhat puls his sword out of an invisible enemy is rather junk! make it faster and a liitle better by adding more moves! and delete the place where he is losing/chainging his sword!
over all i can give u a 4/5 because the part where he raises his sword for the first time totaly took the cake!
The part where he raises his sword looks somewhat weird. I think it's because he does most of the sword rotation after his arm stops. Perhaps a little more rotation as he is raising the sword would help.
beautiful animation :D. I just feel like at the end of each attack animation, his sword should be lower, if not even horizontal completely. It's amazing though :D. I wish I had animating skills like that :P
It's smooth but the attacks look like they have no power behind them.
