I'm a bit late to the party, but I'd love to see the entry that came first if this came second.

Wow, the colors, the lines, the flow, the design... I honestly can't say enough about this. Amazing.
nvision: Well, To be honest, I came up with the name after it was finished and I was a bit in a hurry. I nearly named it "Din mamma" (Your mom) in drunken half panic. 
Damn deadlines!
So.. I didn't plan to make a "pickman's model" more than "let's make some cool lovecraftian horror monster thingy"..
Next time I might try to make one of lovecrafts more cosmic horrors. I just have to figure out how to pixel multidimensional things.
Excellent work, overall, however, after viewing your WIP, I think it could have been a lot stronger if you had left it at an earlier stage. The lighting looks a little too dead-on, and I feel some sort of directional lighting would have really helped avoid the feeling of symmetry and overpolish. Revealing the whole of Pickman's model is rather like the difference between the original Alien movie and Aliens; the first has an atmosphere of horror and the unknown, as you only get partial glimpses of the lone creature, whereas Aliens fills the screen with full illuminated hordes. It's still a good film, but lacks a little of the subtley and intensity.
Technique is perfect.
Both your pictures, Tomic, are masterpieces, and I didn't mixed them up :) Keep up the good work! My picture landed at 14th place... sad but true ;) It wasn't even half good as yours.

did you see my pic at bp? cause it may not be confused with the 8 color winter submarine - this was another competition. i'm gonna do a final version of the other one before submitting it here.
@frost: well, i've missed the last 3 breakpoints, thus last time there where pixels near the front was 2005 and 2006 =)
Good work, Frost. Really good. But I think that Tomic's work should be on second place and your's on third. Nevertheless, you keep Amiga feeling alive!

It's when I see things like this that I'm reminded how far I have yet to go in my pixel art skills. You really created an awesome piece here. I really like it.
Well, It was I that refused/didn't bother to scale the picture..
And also, "still less than frost"... It gave me a pretty good laugh. 
It was really nice to se pixel pictures in the top three, in both compos! First time that happened at Breakpoint?

oooh... com'on... You're Frost and the subject is awesome... How can anyone be surprised by the result?
P.S.: photoshop and graphicsgale can batch in a single animation all your files... I don't know if you can do this with gimp or some other online service too... I really would like to see the WIP

Well, I hate Iron Maiden and I would never ever rip something from them.
But, I hate to say that I see some similarities with Eddie. :(
I might also have to say that this is not any rip of any kind. I might do a WIP-animation if someone gives me a program that can batch load images...
