like the colorscheme and the feel of a painting. though it is not my favourite picture from yours.
reason is that the different styles of dithering does not really fit, look blocky in some areas and some details give me the impression of an unfinished picture. anyway nice vibes.
Grass, I like the painterly style of your work. Though I do agree that the antamoy of the elephant could have used some more polish.
i tried it's not thats why I think it wastes a lot of time!
I Love this alot :D Great style! And i love the colors also ^^
I like the use of colours (even though I prefer the CPC palette). A little more research on the anatomy of elephants would of helped this even more.
@antymattar - i've seen many a "normal" pixel drawing that looks distorted! Doing art in single pixels or wide pixels both present their problems. Why not take up the challenge of this technique and try it yourself? I'm sure you'll find that it's not as simple as you think.
If you can't recognize and enjoy the virtues of a C64-image; PJ isn't the place for you. :D
Wouldn't mind a more precise decription, though. This is a basic MultiColor with black as global color, right?
@ all you guys!- ok first of all! wide pixels can be made by streching!
second: I don't hate wide pixels, I like some of them! One of my favorit pixel arts is in the c64 gallery!
third: I am not saying that this is bad! it neads a bit of work! It is often hard to make wide pixels look good because they require a lot of work!
fourth: I am not 100% pleased with this because, well, the elephant and everything looks desorted! another problem with the wide pixels(and tall ones! I have seen one). They look blured out and ruined! Not meaning that all of these pieces are bad! If you search you can find realy good ones! This one however, neads some refinement! I was saying that if it was normal pixel then it would not be destorted! Do you like seeing somewones work destorted and looking like its running on a capy computer?! Not me!
Why don't you give the c64 palette and wide pixels a go? This is a lovely piece and if you can't give critique that doesn't sound like harsh critisism or trolling, then don't post at all.
antymattar: stop trolling. if you're not trolling, get better opinions
Can you please explain how widepixel detracts from skill? Infact it requires more skill as you want to make it look like normal pixels.
true true! It is just that it takes mutch skill to make it good and no skill can result in failure! like in this one1 if it were normall then the background would make sence and the tree could be made better!
and in some cases making a decent image with wide pixels actually shows great skill. Maybe not this one as such though I do like it. It's a bit messy but that in itself can be an interesting art style.
no im just saying that wide pixels are a way of excusing your art skills! and the palette neads a bit of work because it makes the image depressing!
What's wrong with wide pixels? By the use of that and the color palette it looks like he's going for a C64 vibe. Nothing wrong with that at all.
Oh God! Not another wide-pixel! look buddy, just chaing this into a regular-pixel image and its good! and the backgroud is depressing! but this is fairly good(but the tree could use work)!
Thank You Guys!
